Federica Pezzolato
Federica Pezzolato, aka “Fedou”
I was born in Italy in 1993 and, a few months later, my family and I moved to Warsaw, where I attended French school until I was 18. Spending many years abroad and talking 5 languages every day was fantastic, but the nostalgia for Italy then prompted me to choose a course in translation and interpreting in Rome.
My passion for drawing was born right there, when in my free time at home I started a scribble with the pencil the sketch pad given to me by my grandfather. At first they were small not very detailed drawings, but slowly I was making bigger and bigger ones, because a bigger one size allowed me to delve into the details.
So I fell in love with hyperrealism.
I am self-taught and have never taken any drawing courses. This perhaps explains the fact that I am surprised and excited every time I finish one of my works.
It’s amazing how, from something as simple as a pencil, can such a real and fascinating work of art be born.
